As the search for militants responsible for the deadly ambush on an Army convoy in Baramulla’s Butapathri region continued into its second day, the Indian Army has ruled out any intelligence failure in connection with the attack.
Continuing to target migrant labourers, terrorists on Thursday morning shot and injured a 19-year-old worker from Uttar Pradesh, in South Kashmir's Batagund village of Tral.
The injured soldiers have been evacuated to the military hospital, said the Indian Army's Chinar Corps.
Nine Army soldiers including a Captain and a JCO have lost their lives in two gunfights with terrorists since last week in Kathua and Doda districts.
Sharing the information on twitter, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha said the SHO of the concerned police station has also been attached in the police lines.
Four Pakistani nationals had also died in the attack.
Reports said that the bus was carrying the JKAP personnel of the 9th battalion from Srinagar to headquarters of the armed force at Zewan.
The terrorists escaped after firing at a police party, said the IGP (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar. Security forces cordoned the area and have launched a massive search for terrorists involved in the incident.
