Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is all set to unveil the newly redesigned statue of Telangana Thalli (mother) at the state Secretariat on 9 December, on the occasion of completing one year in office but the BRS has decried it as an attempt to install a “Congress Thalli.”
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday asked BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao to rein in his leaders in the wake of the arrest of party leader T Harish Rao.
"On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid tribute to both," stated the Chief Minister's office.
Chief minister Revanth Reddy, who was present at the party headquarters, Gandhi Bhavan, for a brainstorming over the upcoming caste census in the state said they would send a resolution to the Centre that could prove a model for the decennial census next year.
The opposition BRS on Monday slammed the Telangana government after gatherings of more than five people, processions, dharnas, rallies or public meetings were banned ahead of Diwali celebrations, even as the police commissioner clarified it was not a curfew.
The Chief Minister met Karan Adani, the CEO of Adani Ports and SEZ, and Ashish Rajvanshi of Adani Defence and Aerospace at the Secretariat.
During an informal meet with media persons, Chief Minister Reddy said the government has decided on the changes in the two projects to meet the aspirations of the people.
Revanth Reddy said by wasting funds, which could have been used for welfare, the previous BRS government left the state high and dry.
The chief minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Bhikramarka who also holds the finance portfolio.
According to a White Paper tabled in the state Legislative Assembly, the state’s power distribution companies have a whopping debt of Rs 81,516 crore while their accumulated losses incurred during the BRS rule stand at Rs 62,461.
