Tata wins NINL bid for Rs 12,100 crore

Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd. (NINL) is a joint venture of 4 Centre Public Sector Enterprise (CPSEs), namely MMTC, NMDC, BHEL, MECON and 2 Odisha Govt. PSUs, namely OMC and IPICOL. It has an integrated steel plant with a capacity of 1.1 MT, at Kalinganagar, Odisha and has been running in huge losses with a huge debt of Rs 6,600 crores.

Tata take reins of Air India

The deal to transfer the ownership of Air India was signed in October last year when Tata group offered the highest bid to purchase India’s national carrier for Rs 18,000 crore. As per the agreement Tata Group would pay Rs 2,700 crore cash and take over Rs 15,300 crore debt of the air carrier.

Similar to the preparation done for the earlier two waves, the company is geared up to address the challenge this time around, by providing facilities in health care, safety, access control, transport and administration fronts to contain the spread of the virus. 99% of its employees are already double vaccinated through the various drives undertaken by the company.
