The Calcutta High Court has granted bail to two accused arrested in the murder case of Congress councillor Tapan Kandu case in Purulia, probed by the CBI.
A CBI source said there are enough reasons to believe that a section of the police personnel of Jhalda police station were involved directly or indirectly with the assassination of Kandu.
The investigation is not yet over, it was pointed out. The order of CBI investigation was given to restore confidence in the minds of the petitioner and the people, the single bench observed. The SP Purulia had said yesterday that Kandu’s death was a result of a family dispute.
