The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted the Punjab government time until January 2, 2025, to comply with its December 20 order to provide medical aid and shift farmers' leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a ‘fast-unto-death’ since November 26, to a hospital.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred till January 2 the hearing on a contempt plea seeking action against the Chief Secretary of Punjab for not complying with its earlier orders, where the Punjab government was directed to hospitalise farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal.

The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the states falling in the National Capital Region to constitute teams of officials from police and revenue departments to ensure strict enforcing of the measures under Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to combat and curb air-pollution in the national capital.

The junior doctors of West Bengal affirmed that they will not return to work before the 5 PM deadline set by the Supreme Court during yesterday's suo-motu hearing.
After the Supreme Court hearing on Monday, where it asked the protesting doctors to join work, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee too urged doctors to return to work.
