Sumitra Mahajan is the fifth Lok Sabha Speaker in a row to not return to Parliament as an elected member of the Lower House
Sumitra Mahajan, an eight-time MP from Indore, had last month opted out of the 2019 General Elections.
In a letter expressing her wish to not contest the polls, the MP from Indore questioned why a candidate has not been declared yet from the seat.
There is speculation that Sumitra Mahajan, who turns 76 on April 12, may also not be renominated.
"We are just sharing out views to take the concerns forward. We are not here to take any decision," she said.
Mahajan was welcomed on her arrival by HP assembly speaker Rajiv Bindal, Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
Rajnath Singh had also spoken to the doctors who are supervising his treatment and wished Parrikar a speedy recovery.
