Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has said that the state government is committed to strengthen the healthcare sector and has taken a significant step by granting full salary to MBBS doctors pursuing postgraduate studies or specialized training in India or abroad.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, approved 60-day special maternity leave for women government employees in the event of a stillbirth or the death of a child soon after birth.
Out of a total of 75,18,296 family members, 75,05,913 have been verified under this initiative, he added.
Rajeev Bindal was reacting to the statement of Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu pointing out that the AIIMS in Bilaspur was established but there was no proper facilities for treatment matching the standards of the AIIMS.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reiterated the state government's commitment to improving healthcare services and strengthening medical education.
"The Central Government has reduced the state’s loan limit by Rs.1,600 crore and imposed additional restrictions for reinstating the OPS," he said.
Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Himachal Pradesh assembly ,Jai Ram Thakur, on Tuesday demanded that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu should provide financial assistance to the family of the late Devraj, who lost his life for not being provided an injection during his treatment at Regional Cancer Centre, Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla here.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has said that to further enhance healthcare delivery, the government will separate the cadres of the Directorate of Health Services and Medical Colleges.
Attacking the previous BJP government, he accused it of distributing benefits worth Rs. 5,000 crore for electoral gains, opening 900 institutions six months before the elections without staff or budget, and lowering the quality of public services.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday said during the last two years, 39,220 jobs were provided to the youth of the state, out of which 13,704 jobs were given in the government sector alone.
