The students of university, addressing the media said they have written a letter to the Techno City Police Station, demanding the immediate arrest of Jim Nawaz, who they termed a “goon” and alleged that Nawaz, along with the rest of the people heard in the audio clips, were planning the operation for the past eight months.
The prosecution sanction was granted nearly a year after a city court asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government to take a decision within a reasonable time-frame.
The students are demanding the resignation of top university officials for “failing” to secure justice for those who were allegedly the victim of police excesses during anti-CAA protests.
The JNU administration reiterates that a group of masked students came to CIS Data Centre premises on January 3 and forcibly evicted the technical staff, switched off the power supply, locked the premises.
