In a statement, the global coffee giant said it wants to operate 1,000 stores in India by 2028, and the focus will be in so-called tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Working for 19 years at various positions for Mckinsey, Narasimhan finally left the company in 2012 and joined Pepsico.
The 55-years-old, Indian man has served as chief executive of the maker of Lysol and Enfamil baby formula, UK-based Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC.
As of November 2021, the company had 33,833 stores in 80 countries, 15,444 of which were located in the US.
