Team Asia will have 58 titles won worldwide while six players in the 12-man team are still in their 20s.
Chawrasia carded a total of 14-under-par 274 at the Delhi Golf Club to finish tied-2nd.
With three birdies against three bogeys, he was five shots behind the leader Paul Dunne (67).
Chawrasia won the Indian Open title, co-sanctioned by Asian and European Tour, in 2016 as well as this year.
Two-time Open champion Padraig Harrington moved into the sole lead at nine-under.
"The disappointing part was that I missed a lot of make-able putts," said Chawrasia.
Chawrasia hit as many as six bogeys in the first round, following it up with two in the second.
