The film has received a lot of love and support from dignitaries from different fields, ranging from Anil Kumble, Prabhas, Prashanth Neel, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, superstar Rajinikanth to Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of India, Anurag Thakur and now, it has added a new feather to its rising glory as the renowned Indian yoga guru, a spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar watched 'Kantara' with the devotees.
He said, “Indigenous cultures have all considered the sun, water, mountains, and wind as sacred. These (resources) are essential for sustainable growth and development of the planet".
He has become the first Asian to receive the award. The award is usually given to the heads of state, this is the first time it has been awarded to a spiritual leader.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living Foundation will hold events worldwide across cities and countries. Between 3rd and 19th May, global peace movement events will be held in 24 cities of USA in the presence of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar himself.
Former Kerala chief minister Oomen Chandy was also present at the award ceremony, and he praised the spiritual guru for working towards "spiritual awakening and the betterment of society".
Ten minutes of the film, which is still in production stage, will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival's Doc Corner section of Marche Du Film during its 50th anniversary.
