Police have closed down the roads near Sri Lankan Parliament for the public for the days when the House will be in the session amid unabated anti-government protests following the unprecedented economic crisis in the island nation.
The President will chair the inaugural session which will commence at 10 am where he will deliver the statement of the new government's policy and will suspend the House thereafter.
A political crisis erupted in Sri Lanka last Friday when Sirisena, dissolved Cabinet and sacked Wickremesinghe and appointed former President Rajapaksa as the new Prime Minister.
