The tiger was finally caught today with the forest officials managing to knock it out with a tranquillizer dart. It was safely put in a cage and ferried to a hospital to undergo a clinical check-up. The state forest minister Jyotipriyo Mullick said that a large number of forest officials was deployed to catch the tiger, ensuring it doesn’t get killed at the hands of people.
According to the local people, the magnitude of the blast was so high that the window panes of some of the neighbouring houses broke and the bodies were thrown nearly 200 metres away from the blast site. According to the police, the blast took place on the roof and the concrete roof collapsed.

The incident took place in Kultali, one of the worst-hit areas by the cyclone Amphan.
“You have to understand the ground level problem. I’ve asked the mayor to engage local youths and clubs to clear debris from the roads,” she said.
Chief Wildlife Warden said that parts of the fencing were damaged in Kultali, Bidya, Sajnekhali areas and these affected points are being repaired on an urgent basis by field workers of the forest department.
