Sitaram Yechury passed away on 12th September at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Expressing grief over the demise of the CPM leader, she said, “I am very saddened by the passing away of Sitaram Yechury ji. We had worked closely together during 2004-08 to begin with and the friendship that had been established then continued till his very end.”
Some leaders emerge during elections, such as Lok Sabha or Assembly polls. One such person is 59-year-old Sunita, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. She has become a crucial link between her jailed husband and the party.

The Congress has started preparing for the state elections in the run-up to Lok Sabha polls but before that, it is taking feedback of the important leaders of the states concerned.
Some leaders have also said that Kishor's relations with a few regional parties could benefit Congress if he formally joins the party.
Talks on joining Congress are only between Gandhis and Kishor. He may join Congress in the next three to four days.
Prashant Kishor today met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and gave a detailed presentation on the strategy for the 2024 elections. Congress has said that the party at this point wants him to join the party rather than work as a consultant.
