The duo identified as Suhaib Reyaz and Anayat Ullah Iqbal, both residents of Saidapora Payeen, confessed to their involvement in the terror attack.
Two non-local labourers from Uttar Pradesh were killed in Harmen area of South Kashmir's Shopian district in the grenade attack.
Deceased has been identified as Puran Krishan Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit. The injured was shifted to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Jamaat-e-Islami was declared an unlawful association in 2019, but it continued to raise funds in various forms on the pretext of charitable purposes.
Army spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia confirmed the killing of four terrorists and said war-like stores of arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter spot.
Additional forces were rushed to the area to flush out the militants from the orchard area, police sources said.
The encounter in Shopian began in the afternoon and the terrorist was shot dead during an exchange of fire that lasted for a short duration.

Acha Kashmir main jab se hum aaye hain har doosre-teesre din safai hoti rehti hai, ye safai abhiyaan mera kaam hai bhai. (An armed terrorist is attacking with weapons and bombs, is my soldier supposed to go to the Election Commission to take permission whether I should shoot them or not? Since we have taken charge in Kashmir every two, three days we kill terrorists. This cleaning process is my job),” he said.
