In October 2022, the Varanasi District Judge rejected the application filed by Hindu side for conducting scientific survey of Shivlingam, mainly on the ground that there is an order of sealing passed by the Supreme Court.
The top court said it would hear on Friday the appeal by Gyanvapi Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee against the high court's order for scientific investigation by ASI to determine the age of “Shivling”.
The court had postponed the matter for November 14 during the last hearing on November 8.
