With 21 women (61.76 per cent of 34 wards (seats) winning the elections, including 14 from Congress and seven from BJP, female candidates have a stake in mayoral posts.

BJP has won four seats while CPI (M) winning a single seat. The AAP, a new entrant this time has failed to open any account so far.
Of the 34 wards in the Shimla civic body, highest polling of 74.93 per cent was registered in Bhattakufar Ward 23, while the lowest voter turnout was in Jakhu Ward 16 which was 42.79 per cent.
“Our party, during its mass contact campaign, has seen a tremendous enthusiasm among the people for BJP in all the wards. This is beyond expectations,” he said.
The court has set aside the delimitation of two wards and asked the deputy commissioner to reconsider his order.
