Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Mayor Shelly Oberoi on Saturday said the civic body is taking all possible measures to curb air pollution in the city.
According to the Mayor, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi every year undertakes various measures to curb pollution, and this time it has formed 372 surveillance teams of 1,295 officers, working day and night to monitor the situation.
Directing the Commissioner to take strict action against negligent officials, she also asked him to accompany her on daily inspections from 20th August to 2nd September across all 12 MCD zones to ensure cleanliness.
Delhi Education Minister Atishi and Mayor Shelly Oberoi on Sunday interacted with 48 principals of MCD schools who returned to Delhi after a five-day training from IIM Ahmedabad.
The mayor gave this information through a social media post on X. “Nothing can fulfill the loss that Delhi feels, but we are trying to improve public reading spaces for students.”
During the inspection, Oberoi came across an academy operating inside the basement. As the management failed to show any documents for running the coaching centre MCD officials sealed the academy at her order.
The MCD team reached to seal illegal basements of several coaching centers that were illegally operating activities in basements on the orders of the Mayor.
