Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that his country needs to strike a balance between resources and population size to stimulate economic growth, enhance living standards, and alleviate poverty.

Shehbaz Sharif has been elected as Pakistan’s Prime Minister for the second time, marking a return to a position he held until August when Parliament was dissolved ahead of the elections.
Sharif won 201 votes against his PTI rivals who could manage only 97 votes.
Pakistan Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said chief ministers of all provinces have been invited to the meeting, which would also be attended by the armed forces' leadership.
"We want permanent peace with India through dialogue as war is not an option for either of the countries," The News quoted the premier as saying said while speaking to a group of students from the Harvard University.
The SCO summit is scheduled for September 15-16 where leaders of the organisation will sit together to discuss regional challenges, Daily Jang reported.
The report added that the amount was kept in "hidden accounts" and "given to Shehbaz in a personal capacity", Geo News reported.
This comes after Pakistani authorities registered as many as nine cases of intimidation of journalists by army-related agencies since Shehbaz Sharif took over as prime minister in late April.
