The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has requested the President to give her approval to prosecute former Delhi health minister Satyendra Jain under section 218 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sahita (BNSS).

Jain, who was Delhi’s PWD minister and nodal authority of the project, was accused of receiving a bribe of Rs seven crore for waiving off the penalty of Rs 16 crore imposed on BEL for delay in installing 1.4 lakh CCTV Cameras in Delhi at the cost of Rs 571 crore.
The list of campaigners also has names of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, former Delhi Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and former Health minister Satyendar Jain.
Jain’s plea was for bail in an alleged money laundering case registered by the Directorate of Enforcement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Jain also said at a press conference that despite the deteriorating condition of Rajan Babu Hospital, patients are being treated there.
Dr. Suresh Kumar, MD, LNJP, said "We are installing five PSA plants in the hospital. This medical oxygen will be distributed to hospital wards through pipes. This installation of plants will help in combating the potential third wave of COVID-19."

As many as 1.5 lakh CCTV cameras are expected to be installed in over 1,000 Delhi government schools in six months at an estimated cost of Rs 597 crore.
We will provide health facility to 100% population here. We won't pick and choose. That isn't needed in Delhi. Both the poor and the rich will receive treatment. It's the responsibility of the Delhi government to provide treatment to all residents of Delhi, said Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain.
