Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday described the Mahakumbh as the biggest event in the world that symbolises unity. Emphasising the significance of Sanatan Dharma, he likened it to a banyan tree. "Sanatan Dharma is like a vast and majestic banyan tree. It should never be compared to mere shrubs or bushes," he stated.
Sharing their experiences about the Maha Kumbh, foreign 'Mahamandaleshwars' praised Sanatan Dharma and also lauded the government for its "incredible" efforts in organising the grand event.
The 13 akharas, the flag bearers of Sanatan Dharma, are present in Sector-20, adorning the Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
Among the many inspiring stories emerging from the Mahakumbh is that of Harsha, a young woman from Uttarakhand who left behind a thriving career in the national and international glamour industry. She took spiritual initiation under Swami Kailashananda Giri.
The Mahakumbh 2025 has drawn sants and spiritual gurus of profound inspiration from across the globe, including Baba Mokshpuri, formerly Michael, an ex-soldier in the US Army, who has embraced Sanatan Dharma.
"I inherit a legacy that spans thousands of years, with its cultural and spiritual events equally ancient. The tradition of Sanatan is higher than the sky and beyond comparison," he remarked.
Hundreds of Mahatmas from Shri Panch Dashnam Avahan Akhara are bringing the sacred Chhadi to Prayagraj. The Chhadi Yatra, which began in Haridwar, is being led by Dadaji Dhuniwale Shri Mahant Gopal Giri of Avahan Akhara.
Calling Sanatan Dharma the national religion of India, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday that it is the collective responsibility of the citizens to protect it.
