The Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) once again proved their dominance in Indian boxing, retaining their title at the 8th Elite Men’s National Boxing Championship with a commanding performance in the finals held at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
Continuing their stellar campaigns, Shiva Thapa and Sachin Siwach registered stunning victories on Day 4 to enter the quarterfinals of the 8th Elite men’s national boxing championship, currently underway at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
Shiva Thapa, the reigning welterweight (60-65kg) champion from the previous edition, kicked off his title defence at the 8th elite men’s national boxing championship with a commanding victory on the second day of the tournament being held at Bareilly.
Siwach started the proceedings for India with a clinical 5-0 win over Olympian Batuhan Ciftci of Turkey in the pre-quarterfinal round and Sanjeet then saw off the challenge from Luis Sanchez of Venezuela with an identical margin in the Round of 32.
Amit (51kg) continued his fine form to claim 5-0 unanimous decision win over Aldarkhishig Battulga of Mongolia.
