Contending before a bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde, Advocate Prashant Bhushan said that that the detained Rohingyas may be deported to Myanmar which is currently under Army's control and also seeing violence.
A bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde and comprising of Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian said, "The matter is too serious. We have to hear it."

During the hearing, senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan quoted Mahatma Gandhi and contended that he will not apologise for the two tweets and cheerfully accept the punishment that will be given to him.
Advocate Bhushan has said that he was 'exercising his freedom of speech' and giving his opinion about the functioning of the court, and it does not amount to 'obstruction of justice', necessitating the contempt proceedings.
The Chief Justice termed it odd that the apex court has to explain this process to the lawyers instead of them being well aware about this process and how it works.
