The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faced a crushing defeat in the Delhi assembly elections, with prominent leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Saurabh Bhardwaj losing their respective constituencies on Saturday.
Delhi is often perceived as a modern urban hub. However, the national capital houses 340 villages that continue to struggle for basic civic amenities in the midst of the election frenzy. Notable villages include Palam, Karala, Mundka, Narela, Mehrauli, and Dhansa, among others.
BJP New Delhi constituency candidate Parvesh Verma on Thursday hit out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal over the issue of the Jat reservation, claiming that entire rural Delhi has decided to vote against the AAP and exuded confidence that the saffron party is winning the upcoming assembly polls.
The Home Guard personnel in the national capital issued an ultimatum to the authorities to regularise their jobs or face the boycott of the polls.
