Reacting to the announcement, Robert Vadra said, "I am very happy that Priyanka will contest elections from Wayanad. She will work hard there also. I hope the people of Wayanad will make her win with a majority."
In a Facebook post, Robert Vadra wrote, "No power, positions of politics can get between our family.
Accusing the BJP of doing politics of discrimination, Vadra said ''a secular government should be established in the country and the INDI alliance was working towards this with full strength''.
Earlier today, Vadra had said that people of Amethi are troubled by sitting BJP MP Smriti Irani and that they expect him to represent the constituency.
Vadra also claimed that he has been approached by different parties to come along.
Vadra appeared before the ED on February 6, 7, and 9 after he was directed by a Delhi court to cooperate with the investigation being carried out by the central probe agency.
Soon after posters ‘inviting’ him to contest from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad surfaced in the city, Robert Vadra said that politics can wait but he will consider if “people” want it.
The ED had, on December 7, last year, raided several properties in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru belonging to Vadra.
Vadra, who has been granted interim bail till March 2 by a Delhi court, has been questioned by the ED on February 6, 7 and 9.
In the Bikaner case, the agency had summoned Vadra thrice but he failed to appear and later approached the court.
