The Telangana government on Wednesday officially launched its comprehensive socio-economic, employment, political, and caste survey, a key issue raised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
"On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid tribute to both," stated the Chief Minister's office.
Chief minister Revanth Reddy, who was present at the party headquarters, Gandhi Bhavan, for a brainstorming over the upcoming caste census in the state said they would send a resolution to the Centre that could prove a model for the decennial census next year.
The opposition BRS on Monday slammed the Telangana government after gatherings of more than five people, processions, dharnas, rallies or public meetings were banned ahead of Diwali celebrations, even as the police commissioner clarified it was not a curfew.

Congress government in Telangana today faced spontaneous protests from the people living in areas along River Musi in Hyderabad whose houses were marked for demolition by state government officials conducting the survey for Musi Riverfront Development project.
In a setback to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy , the ED court at Nampally has summoned him to appear before it on October 16. He is an accused in the cash- for- vote case which had taken place in 2015.
