Scores of Congress workers gathered outside the residence of MLA Nirmala Sapre in Bina town of Sagar to stage a protest, prompting police to resort to using water cannons to disperse them.
The opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh has demanded resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, alleging that one of the three accused arrested in the seizure of 907 kg of contraband drug mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 1814 crore from Bhopal, is " very close" to the Deputy CM.

In a hard-hitting five-page letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, he squarely blamed her son and senior leader Rahul Gandhi for the party's terminal decline, saying all important decisions were being taken by Rahul or his security guards and PAs while she was just a nominal figurehead.
The young leader said the Congress' decision-making is influenced by the "self-serving interests" of individuals indulging in sycophancy.
