Nominations for the Padma Awards-2026 to be announced on the occasion of Republic Day, 2026, have started.
When Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto joined as the chief guest at India’s Republic Day celebration on 26 January 2025, it became his first trip to India as head of state. He was the fourth Indonesian leader to be chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar delivered remarks on Monday (local time) during the Republic Day celebrations in Abu Dhabi where he highlighted India's aim to become "Viksit Bharat" by 2047 and the strides which the country has taken in this direction.
Republic Day 2025 in India was marked by grandeur and patriotism, with President Droupadi Murmu unfurling the national flag at Kartavya Path.

The SKM or 'Joint Farmers Front', including 32 organisations, made the announcement after an emergency meeting at the Singhu border which is the centre of the farmers' protest.
The police have also said that more than 300 policemen were injured in the violence that erupted at Mukarba Chowk, Gazipur, ITO, Seemapuri, Nangloi T-Point, Tikri Border and the Red Fort.
According to sources, the Home Secretary, Director Intelligence Bureau and senior officers of Delhi Police were present at the meeting called to take stock of the security arrangements in Delhi.
The rioters stormed the Red Fort and damaged property at several places in the national capital.
