Religion

Playing with fire

Running with the hare and hunting with the hounds is an idiom that summarises Pakistan’s consistent tryst with religiosity.

Religion not to Blame

The Hinduism which is preached and propagated these days is crafty with political motives. It ostensibly sacrifices truth and morality at the altar of untruth and subterfuge.

Swamiji and Politics

Swamiji had, however, little faith in politics since it often reduced men to brutes who ‘in the name of politics rob others and fatten themselves by sucking the very life blood of the masses‘. None could deny this, looking at what is presently happening at various levels. Indeed, it is imaginable what therefore would have been his reaction had he seen politics suffused with lies and lust for power as it is today in this country.

Philosophy of Religion

The Abrahamic religions, we have seen, are deductive in their logic. They begin with a premise and work downwards. On the other hand, the Hindu view is inductive in its logic, which moves from facts on the ground upwards till it reaches a conclusion. Hinduism does not have a book as its fountain of belief, there is no premise and therefore no corollaries which a follower can refer to, or a commandment or guidance.
