Cleared under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), Dahiya will travel to Vladikavkaz on Wednesday night. The 24-year-old will be accompanied by his coach Arun Kumar, sparring partner Sahil and physiotherapist Munish Kumar.
The 24-year-old wrestler from the village Nahri in Sonipat district, Haryana, will now be preparing for the upcoming world championships next month and will be hoping to add to the bronze he won in Nur Sultan in 2019.
The event was presided over by the General Secretary, Wellness Centre, Abhishek Kumar, who opened the session with a video clip of Dahiya showing his Olympic semi-final bout, which stunned everyone in the audience.
The 25-year-old's next challenge will be Stefan Reichmuth of Switzerland in semifinal for a place in the final.
Along with Punia, Ravi Kumar Dahiya also bagged bronze in the 57-kg category after beating Iran's reigning Asian champion Reza Atri 6-3 to win his maiden Worlds medal.
