BKU spokesperson Rajesh Tikait said, "First in 2008, then in 2021 and at present also the situation is similar. We will not shy away from getting shot in the chest."
Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, who is facing backlash over his son's alleged involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence calls farmer leader Rakesh Tikait a "Do Kaudi Ka Aadmi" in a video shared on microblogging sites.
Tractors more than 10 years are being stopped. BKU is fighting against such harassments. Tikait added.
Tikait was attending a press conference on "Raita Chaluvali, Aatmavalokana haagu Spasteekarana Sabha (Farmer's Movement, Introspection and Clarification Meeting)" organised by Karnataka State Farmers Association and Hasiru Sene.
The police are going through the call details record of the number which was used to threaten the leader.
His statement comes days after the Centre repealed the three agricultural laws against which several farmers' unions had been protesting for nearly a year.
Tikait rubbished the view that MSP for several farm produce will put a huge burden on the government exchequer.
Tikait said everyone should be allowed to meet the families of victims killed in the violence in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri and also asked the government to arrest all the accused of killing the farmers within a week.
"No matter how long we have to stretch this protest, we will not step back": Tikait.
Tikait, on Wednesday, claimed that Owaisi is hand in glove with the BJP and called him the saffron party's 'chacha jaan'.
