Emphasizing the importance of good governance, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said that true governance ensures the fulfillment of individual needs, provides a sense of security, and guarantees a platform for everyone to express their views.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled the statue of 'Bharat Ratna' and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Kudiya Ghat, situated along the banks of the Gomti River in Lucknow on Wednesday.
On the eve of the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the 'Atal Geet Ganga' programme was organised in Lucknow. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the event as chief guests.
After inaugurating the 'Atal Health Fair' with CM Yogi, the Defence Minister recalled witnessing parents carrying the bodies of children outside a hospital during his student years at Gorakhpur University.
Reflecting on Atalji’s greatness, he said that his life and ideology continue to inspire generations today. He also commended Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his dedicated efforts driving Uttar Pradesh's development.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment towards implementation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership based on mutual trust and understanding, common interests and shared values, of democracy and rule of law.
Necessary amendments to relevant recruitment rules will be undertaken to implement these provisions.
Official sources said that the Defence Minister will also visit various forward areas and review the preparedness of the army deployed on the country's defence.
The Indian minister also called on President of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
He will also attend a community event organized by the Embassy of India, Hanoi, and interact with the Indian diaspora in Vietnam.
