The BJP on Saturday hit out at Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of trying to politicise the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Attacking the government, Gandhi in a post on X wrote, “The present government has completely insulted Dr Manmohan Singh, the great son of Mother India and the first Prime Minister of the Sikh community, by conducting his last rites at Nigambodh Ghat today.”
The three Gandhis took a recess from his ongoing long Bharat Jodo Yatra from the Kota district for the tiger safari.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday extended heartfelt thanks to the people of Himachal Pradesh after trends suggested that Congress is slated to win the hill state.
The ruling BJP was leading in 33 seats earlier, but gradually slid to 25 and won two seats.
"This is Mahatma Gandhi's party, not Savarkar's or Godse's. We know how to work hard," Rahul said.
