Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Friday, termed it as a major success and said, “Today marks a major milestone in the sustained crackdown on ISI-backed terror networks, with the announcement of detention of Happy Passia by the United States authorities."
Amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab in a joint operation with Tarn Taran Police has arrested two key associates of terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike and Gangster Satnam Singh alias Satta Naushehra gang.
With this, the number of drug smugglers arrested reached 6,284 in just 47 days.
DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav said the terror module was being operated by Germany-based Gurpreet Singh AKA Goldy Dhillon, a close associate of Goldy Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Special DGP Arpit Shukla accompanied by IGP Headquarters Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, while addressing a press conference, said that police teams have also recovered an E-rickshaw used by the accused persons in executing the crime.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sukhdev Singh alias Sukhi, a resident of Mohan Ke Uttar in Ferozepur. Apart from recovering heroin, police teams have impounded his Hero Splendor motorcycle (PB-05-AM-5620), which he was riding
The arrested accused has been identified as Jaiveer Tyagi alias Jawed, a native of village Baroli in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh (UP) and currently residing in Ludhiana.
The arrested accused has been identified as Harshpreet Singh, a resident of Roranwala in Amritsar.
The move, initiated on the directions of DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav, aims at further streamlining the Dial 112 helpline — Public Safety Answering Point, which has already processed over 2.34 crore calls and registered nearly 20.05 lakh cases till now.
