Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Rajouri Garden Manjinder Singh Sirsa claimed on Tuesday that AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal is dreaming of becoming the chief minister of Punjab. He cited the meeting of Punjab legislators in Delhi to substanciate his claim.

He also asked the Congress leader to count instead how many MLAs his party has in Delhi.
Reiterating the firm commitment of the state government to check crime in the state, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday said that the police officers will be held accountable for major crimes taking place in the areas under their jurisdiction.
The opposition Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday lashed out at Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for allegedly failing to release 62.5 percent of the amount meant for Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) scheme for SC students, even as the party said only Rs 92 crore out of total Rs 245 crore has been released till date.

A spokesperson for the Chief Minister's Office said the Chief Minister has impressed upon the Railway Board Chairman to take a sympathetic view of the matter and consider the withdrawal of cases against the members of various farmers' organisations.

After the meeting at Punjab Bhavan, where AICC observer Harish Chaudhary was also present, both Channi and Sidhu left the meeting venue without talking to the media.
Kejriwal said as promised by the ruling Congress in the run-up to 2017 Assembly polls, all farm loans should be waived off. He said the Power Purchase Agreements, which are blamed for high power tariffs in Punjab, should also be cancelled.
