According to the police, two terrorists were killed in an encounter at the Puchal area of Pulwama district during a joint operation by the police and the army, and the other two terrorists were killed in a second encounter.
The encounter took place in Pulwama's Tiken area.
Security forces cordoned the area and have launched a search operation for terrorists.
Army’s spokesman based in Srinagar, Colonel Rajesh Kalia, said that one M4 rifle and a pistol were recovered from the two terrorists killed in the Chingam area of the Kulgam district.
The police along with the Army and CRPF had launched a search operation late on Wednesday, based on the credible inputs about the presence of terrorists in the forest area of Badroo Barsoo at Awantipora.
