A total of 986,850 people subscribed to employee provident fund during the month of August, an 11 per cent decline in comparison to the previous month, data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on Tuesday showed.
EPFO, which comes under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has settled a total of 12.91 lakh claims which includes 7.40 lakhs COVID-19 claims under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) package.
The levels of employment are from various sources, there are elements of overlap and the estimates are not additive, the Ministry said.
