Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh said that Pro-tem Speaker Owaisi made "anti-Hindu" remarks in the past.
The oath was administered by Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. CM Revanth Reddy was also present on the occasion.

A total of 11 MLAs took oath in English. These included MLAs Neeraj Nayyar, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Hoshiar Singh, RS Bali, Ashish Butail, Bhuvneshwar Gaur, Vinod Sultanpuri, Harish Janartha, Vikramaditya Singh, Nand Lal, and Jagat Singh Negi.
In the year 2004, he contested for the 14th Lok Sabha from Kangra constituency on a Congress ticket and defeated the then Union Minister and former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar.
The role of the pro-tem speaker is significant when it comes to deciding whose whip will run in the Assembly.
