It was declared that Rs 450 will be given per RTE admission by the government but how this amount was calculated or what formula was used was never communicated to the schools.
A portal has been created to simplify the process of granting permanent recognition to the schools. School heads can now apply for recognition through this portal, Kanwar Pal said.
This will bring relief to students and their parents, running from pillar to post, for getting information from unaided, privately managed schools.
The Students Parents Forum convener Vijender Mehra said the Director, Higher Education on 10 Nov had lifted the restriction imposed on private schools to only charge tuition fees from the students.
ABVP State secretary Vishal Verma said there were several issues pertaining to various universities in the state including regular staff and fees but these issues remained as it is despite several representations to the government.
It is alleged that several private schools and colleges have increased their fee-structure, even amid the COVID- 19 crisis, following which both state education minister Partha Chatterjee and state principal secretary of school education, Manish Jain, had taken up the matter.
Due to the health crisis emerged in the country; all schools in West Bengal have been shut till April 15.
