Amid rising tomato prices that are burning a hole in common man's pocket across the country, the government on Friday said the prices of the commodity are expected to stabilise within the next 15 days.
The surge in farm prices is only being partially passed on to the consumers, thereby securing the interests of both the stakeholders -- consumers and farmers.

The data released by the Minister revealed that while the average petrol prices have gone up by 52.34 %, the average prices of diesel and LPG have gone up by 64.23 % and 55.97 % respectively.
The cost-of-living increase was mainly influenced by higher prices for petrol, mortgage interest payments, and second-hand motor cars, Dewbery said.

The pump price of petrol in Delhi, which fell to Rs 103.97 a litre at 6 a.m. on November 4, remained at the same level on Monday. The diesel prices also remained unchanged in the capital at Rs 86.67 a litre.
