"We firmly believe that prevention is better than cure, and through various awareness campaigns and health education programmes, we are encouraging our citizens to adopt healthier habits and make wellness a way of life," said Pramod Sawant.
"In future during the government job recruitment, previous job experience will be compulsorily sought," CM Sawant.
Earlier, ahead of assembly election in February 2022, the BJP had assured government jobs to the youths of the state. It was BJP's key poll plank.
Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that his government intends to start a veterinary college and a degree in pisciculture in the coastal state.
"We are promoting medical tourism, spiritual tourism, we are promoting hinterland tourism and political tourism. I feel it has started in Goa. Elections are close. I welcome all kinds of tourism so that all my Goan brothers and sisters have access to a new business in Goa. Tourist business should increase in Goa," Sawant told a function in the North Goa district.
"Pharmaceutical industry in Goa produces 12 per cent of the total medicine manufactured in India. Around 70 per cent of the product is exported to the most developed countries in the world," Sawant told a government function in Panaji organised to promote industrial trade in the state.
Speaking at a valedictory function for junior scale government officers Sawant said that his government was "working like a private company", before going on to explain the success of his vision to make Goa self-reliant.
Speaking to reporters, Sawant also urged opposition politicians, including Chodankar, to shun politicising the state's efforts to vaccinate the population.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has repeatedly said that the state needs to be on alert in the wake of an increase in Covid cases in Maharashtra and Kerala.
