Pragya Singh Thakur was addressing a condolence meeting at the Madhya Pradesh BJP office.
It is learnt that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has expressed its utter disgust towards the ever-increasing utterances of BJP leaders.
Pragya Thakur had, on Monday, failed to get an exemption from appearance in a special court this week in the 2008 Malegaon blast case.
"Grounds shown in the exemption application like to complete process of elections, enrolment and other factors cannot be accepted at all as time and again, the accused person (Thakur) has undertaken to remain present before this court but fails to do so," the court said.
“BJP does not agree with this statement, we condemn it. Party will ask her for clarification. She should apologise publicly for this statement,” said Narasimha Rao of BJP.
Pragya was replying to a query on Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief and actor Kamal Haasan’s remark that the first terrorist in independent India was a Hindu, referring to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse.
The Election Commission had, on Wednesday, May 1 prohibited Thakur from campaigning for three days starting 6 am Thursday over her remark that she is proud of Babri Masjid’s demolition, which was found violative of the Model Code of Conduct.
The DEO said that Pragya’s statement was in violation of chapter 4 of the model code of conduct which states: No activity, which may aggravate existing differences or create mutual hatred or cause tension between different caste/communities/religious/linguistic groups, shall be attempted.
NDA leaders seem to be especially upset over Pragya's controversial remarks that it was her "curse" that resulted in the killing of Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare at the hands of Pakistani terrorists during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks
