While no formal declaration about the pact has come forth from either the SP or the BSP, it is understood that Mayawati may make an announcement to this effect on January 10.
Shivpal, who still swears by his brother despite the ill-will with his nephew and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, has already proposed to Mulayam to take over as the president of PSPL.
Shivpal Yadav has also announced his intention to field 80 candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
