Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has urged the Centre to allow the early resumption of construction works on hydropower projects that have been halted for over a decade.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami raised the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 25 requesting him to give approval since the 24 hydropower projects were cleared by the apex court.
Dhami also sought the centre's nod for the 24 projects which will also lead the state to meet its power requirements
The CM further informed the Assembly that the government has also made partial changes in the solar and wind policy.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the time extension (36 months) to identify 10 Provisional Mega certified projects for furnishing the final Mega Certificates to the Tax authorities.
