Security forces on Saturday arrested two terrorists of Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) with grenades and arms in the Poonch district along the Line of Control (LOC).
Contact has been established and few rounds have been fired from both sides.
The convoy has been secured, and further investigation is under progress, the IAF said.
Mehbooba hosted separate iftar parties in the twin border districts of Jammu divisions that were merged with South Kashmir’s Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency in the recent delimitation.
The Northern Army Commander said: "Though we lost five of our brave soldiers in the encounter, we eliminated two dreaded terrorists."
The raids were conducted at five locations across Gursai village of Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch district.
The incident has come a day after the killing of a Pakistani terrorist in Reasi district of Jammu Division.
The DGP chaired a joint security review meeting with officers of Police and Army at the BG Brigade headquarters at Mender, Poonch and at Kalakote in Rajouri.
Muneer Hussain, one of the most dreaded terrorists killed along with his accomplice in an infiltration bid, was tasked to revive terrorism in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
