Colonel Devender Anand, spokesman of the Defence Ministry said, "At about 9.15 a.m. today Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the LoC in Shahpur, Kirni and Degwar sectors of Poonch district.
65-year-old Mohammad Sadiq of Tain Mankote in Poonch district succumbed to critical injuries sustained in Pakistan shelling. Two civilians have been killed and six injured in Friday's flare up on the LoC, according to officials.
Meanwhile, Army spokesman, Lt. Colonel Devender Anand said that the Indian Army was retaliating befittingly to the Pakistani shelling.
