Pakistan's Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio Eradication at the National Institute of Health (NIH) Pakistan has confirmed the sixth polio case in the country from District Thatta, Sindh, according to local media reports.
Despite spending $5 billion during the last 27 years, the dream of a polio-free Pakistan remained elusive with the emergence of two back-to-back polio cases in April, the media reported.
According to the police, the incident took place in Maidan area. The policemen were on their way to a basic health unit when they were targeted".
