The special bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Sanjay Kumar and Justice KV Viswanathan will take up for hearing a batch of petition at 3.30 PM on December 12.
One of the petitions have contended that the law under challenge excludes the birthplace of Lord Rama but includes the birthplace of Lord Krishna, though both are the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the creator and equally worshiped all over the world.
On October 21, the bench directed the Centre to file an affidavit on or before October 31. It had listed the matter for further hearing on November 14.

AIMPLB said that the object of the Places of Worship Act, of 1991 is to prevent such disturbance of public order and maintain public peace.
