Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking to intervene and withdraw the finance ministry's norm making it mandatory for the state to repay the Viability Gap Fund (VGF) for the Vizhinjam seaport project in installments.
The Kerala government has decided to take strict action against government employees who have illegally availed of social welfare pensions. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday.

The election was necessitated after the sudden demise of two-time Thrikkakara's Congress legislator P.T. Thomas in December last year.
"We have no doubt of what's in store when the votes will be counted. We expect to increase the margin that we got last time," said Satheesan.
In both these cases, Dileep is presently out on bail and all eyes are on the High Court where a petition is being heard if the probe in the case would be extended.
