The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the release of an accused in Bihar while terming as strange the Patna High Court order granting bail but deferring the release by six months.
The state government had deployed a large number of police forces. Such a PIL was filed to defame the state government.
It also directed that a "responsible officer" from the market regulator's head office at Mumbai be present in the court on March 28 to answer all the questions posed by it.
The bench also asked the CBI to place before it two status reports of the investigation which were filed earlier before the high court.
On August 23, the bench had pulled up the CBI for its failure to submit a progress report in the investigation into the case.
